To Do, or To Don’t. That is the question.
The best “To-Do List” doesn’t have actions on it for very long – you identify a task, set a goal and get it done, making way for new actions. If you have a love/hate relationship with your to-do list, it’s probably because you’re procrastinating. If that sounds familiar, it’s time to clean it up! If you have difficulty getting certain tasks completed, be honest with yourself about why. If you aren’t getting around to tasks because it’s not the best use of your time, it’s outside your area of strengths, or you’re simply not passionate about them, find a way to discard, delete or delegate them. In the future, those items should go on your “To-Don’t” list. Discard, delete or delegate. Sounds great, doesn’t it?
A couple of nights ago I was preparing for a keynote talk I’m about to give on The Anatomy of the Entrepreneur. Since entrepreneurs are such complex folks, I was trying to develop a simple sketch that would capture their “essence.”
I think I’m getting there, but I need to capture the entrepreneur’s ability to Communicate vision to attract & inspire team members and expand their sphere of influence. Do you have any suggestions on what icon to use for that?
I also need an icon to capture Intestinal Fortitude to capture the ability to persevere and drive on through fear and failure (any suggestions for this one? I’ve got an idea, but I want to keep it clean).
Any help you can offer would be appreciated. I’ll keep you updated on the progress.
Thanks so much!
Entrepreneurs, activists, and fellow citizens, take note of Dr. King’s admonition to take action.
“We are now faced with the fact, my friends, that tomorrow is today. We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now. In this unfolding conundrum of life and history, there is such a thing as being too late. Procrastination is still the thief of time. Life often leaves us standing bare, naked, and dejected with a lost opportunity. The tide in the affairs of men does not remain at flood — it ebbs. We may cry out desperately for time to pause in her passage, but time is adamant to every plea and rushes on. Over the bleached bones and jumbled residues of numerous civilizations are written the pathetic words, “Too late.” Martin Luther King, Jr.
